"Thank you very much for your generous gift to make one of our patient's dreams come true. Our patient and her daughter had a wonderful day being pampered and enjoying relaxing in one another's company while getting massaged and tended to. The afternoon they experienced at Chameleon Day Spa was fantastic and wholly dependent on your kind donation. A gift like this lets terminal folks know that the world hasn't forgotten about them."

"Dear Gifted Wishes,
I wanted to thank you so very much for enabling me to move my mother from Oklahoma to Oregon. The way I was treated by Jean, was so very comforting as well as caring. When we found out that mom's cancer had returned after only 2 months from surgery, it was a very hard blow to handle. Within 2 weeks she was already on Hospice. I immediately flew to Oklahoma to be with her as her doctor said that her prognosis was not good, and that there was nothing more that could be done for her. After I returned home, I knew that I wanted mom to be in Oregon close to my family and I. Pacific NW Hospice provided the funds needed to get back to Oklahoma and move my mom close to us. She has now been here in Oregon for a little over 2 months and I get to see her many times per week. Although she is not getting better, and she is still in a lot of pain, she is very happy to be closer to us. We are able to reminisce about years ago and growing up and we are able to bring her home cooked meals to enjoy. If it weren't for Jean, Gifted Wishes, and many other wonderful people, none of this would have been made possible. I can never thank you enough. You are making my mother's final times happier. Much love," Barb Albright |
A Few Words From A Few of Our Gifted Wish Recipients
However, since I had just flown to Oklahoma, I didn't have the funds to return to Oklahoma, let alone also pay for my mother's move. Jean was given my name and story. She called me and told me of the very generous donation that Pacific NW Hospice foundation was providing for my mother and I. I was so overwhelmed with joy and happy tears. I now had the funds needed to get back to Oklahoma and move my mom close to us. She has now been here in Oregon for a little over 2 months and I get to see her many times per week. Although she is not getting better, and she is still in a lot of pain, she is very happy to be closer to us.
