Having grown up in a family of doctors and surrounded by these caring physicians and surgeons, Jean Rosenbaum understands deeply the importance of honoring the journey that patients are on while they are in hospice care.
Like most great ideas the Gifted Wishes grew from the seeds planted by several co-workers at a local area hospice. Discovering legal reasons which determined that a 501(c)(3) must stand alone from a corporate business, Jean first incorporated the Pacific North West Hospice Foundation as a public charity in 2010 with the mission of helping meet the financial burden of fulfilling those end of life wishes. Over the years and through the tremendous support of the community, it grew into Gifted Wishes in 2018.
Gifted Wishes bring joy to hospice patients and their families in the form cab fare, bus money, and even airfare to help unite families with their loved ones in hospice care. Sometimes Gifted Wishes arrive as Blazer tickets for a life-long fan, or seats at a patient's favorite play to view one last run. They can be a spa day for a grandmother and her granddaughters, or a day out fishing with grandpa. Gifted Wishes create moments that matter.
